It’s the Little Things

From the moment I started this journey into family photography, I knew I wanted to capture more than just the quintessential family photo we see above the fireplace… the image where every hair is in place and smiles are painted on like a brush stroke. For me, to feel the essence of someone means to see how they walk, move their hands while at play or how their eyes rest on their loved one’s faces.

To be able to capture these quiet moments for families gives me such joy, and is why my galleries end up being more abundant than originally promised. I know how it goes, you see. I have two kiddos myself, and I would have never thought to keep the image of my child playing with a twig or one of them walking away. But NOW. Oh, now those images are more precious to me than even my posed family photos from back then!

This time we’ll never get back can be treasured again when you run across an old picture of your kiddos climbing trees or holding your face for a kiss. As hard as it can be with little ones, that beautiful time goes by so unsympathetically quick. Before you know it, they’ll be starting middle school, and you’ll be left thinking, “what just happened!?”. LOL!

So enjoy these times, Moms and Dads! And always…always hold on to those pictures of the little things. You’ll be so glad you did one day.
